The upcoming SimCity 6.0 patch will include a brand new region. Granite Lake was inspired by the picturesque scenery and rugged mountains of Denver, Colorado.
SimCity Level Designer Kyle Brown described the new region in a blog post; where he detailed the gameplay impact of the mountainous terrain.
This Region is meant to be challenging. The city plots have multilevel terrain, but building here has its own rewards. Cities created here will have to navigate the terrain and this will cause them to become unique. These unique cities will be framed by a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains.
Sadly there is no indication that this region includes larger city plots. But it does have pretty new textures. Who cares about better playability, the game just needs to be prettier!
