Maxis have announced that the long awaited Mac version of SimCity will be available on June 11th. The game will only be available for purchase through Origin. The Mac version connects to the very same servers as Windows, so cooperative play between players on different platforms will work seamlessly.
Maxis also confirmed that players who purchased the game on Windows will automatically have access to the Mac version – without needing to purchase a second copy. SimCity’s always-online feature (while incredibly annoying) will allow you to pick up your city where you left off, even if you switch computers or operating systems.
